GEA Wiegand is a leading supplier, designer and manufacturer of evaporation and distillation plants, membrane filtration plants, vacuum systems and scrubbers.

In 1908 Wilhelm Wiegand obtained a patent for a multi-effect circulation evaporator and founded Apparatebau GmbH Wilhelm Wiegand in Merseburg in 1920. Dr. Joachim Wiegand (1908-1987), the founder’s eldest son, established the new Wiegand Apparatebau GmbH in Karlsruhe in 1948, and in 1984 GEA Wiegand joined the GEA Group.

The company supplies the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the food industry and provides equipment for environmental applications. GEA Wiegand has offices all over the world and has supplied more than 4,000 plants to customers in over 80 countries on all continents of the world.

The company works closely with its sister companies GEA Process Engineering France, GEA Process Engineering Inc., and GEA Messo under the motto "United for Technology". This is to jointly concentrate the competences in evaporation technology and to offer extended system solutions to the market.
