GEA Process Engineering has acquired a leading company in the vacuum
filling business, the UK company ADG. The acquisition strengthens GEA Process
Engineering’s position as a world leader in supplying complete systems for
powder packaging. The ADG portfolio of powder packaging systems supplements the
technology already supplied by GEA Colby and GEA Avapac.
ADG is a leading supplier of powder packaging solutions for the industries
of dairy and coffee and several other industries. ADG has a turnover of approx.
EUR 5 million and approx. 30 employees. For many years, ADG has been a world
leader in vacuum filling equipment and has an impressive customer base with
more than 2,000 filling machines installed. With the acquisition, GEA Process
Engineering strengthens its market position, both in the industrialised world
and in important growth markets such as the BRIC countries.
ADG will be part of the strategic business unit of Powder Systems under the
brand name GEA Albro.
