Superior technology for the Nestlé Group: first fully automatic food plant in Chile to be built by GEA TDS in co-operation with Nestlé

GEA TDS GmbH, part of GEA Process Engineering, has received a turnkey order from Nestlé of approximately EUR 9 million to build a fully automatic baby food plant in Chile. The new plant will be located near Osorno.

GEA TDS will have the project management for this new plant, together with an active support by Nestlé PTC Konolfingen / Switzerland. The plant will be built with the latest available process technology and know-how for achieving trend setting for the future.

Apart from full project management GEA TDS will be also responsible for the complete management of the liquid process. Therein is hygienic design engineering, the process automation, installation and commissioning of all liquid processing parts, evaporation
system, butter oil plant and the CIP unit.

The project will start in July 2009, installation will begin in spring 2010, and the final plant shall be ready early 2011.
